One Young World - The first day of the summit was launched this morning at 8 am (local time in Pittsburgh). Today's topics were education, social enterprise, creativity and sustainable development until health!
For the first day, subjects were numerous and we could listen to many interesting people including: Joss Stone, Pete Cashmore, Jamie Oliver, Jan Peter Balkenende, Jeremy Gilley, Paul Polman and Muhammad Yunus.
It began with Joss Stone who presented her view of things and the fact that she preferred the freedom and creativity rather than making money. She was there mainly to share her experience and her career choices. What I could highligh and what Creative Wallonia shares is that "There is no problem in the world, but only challenges", and it is up to us to ensure that we succeed.
Then we talked about the challenge of education. It seems that the problem of education is linked to other problems such as bad food, poverty, health ... In this way, it came out clearly that we will have to innovate for increasing the level of education in the world. One way would be to use social networks and internet technology ... by seing the free service. It is here that this sets a new challenge: How can we do that ?
Then Jeremy Gilley told us about his project Peace One Day. An interesting experiment to study. In fact, his project was to establish one day per year during which the world should stop all acts of violence. He was a little afraid to misinterpret his project and that it ends in a symbolic day of non-violence. According to the results of various actions, he found that this action had an interesting effect such as a 70% decrease of violence in Afghanistan in one day. Then he continued to work on this project and on different communication actions. A movement of international significance with a vision to raise 3 million person for 2016 is born ! The board was then to believe and to take different actions such as: Implementation of local initiatives, use of social networks, involvement of famous people, ...
Finally, we welcomed Muhammad Yunus on the social enterprises field ! One point to note: "According to him, there must be different companies. Companies working for profit sharing, other commercial enterprises with an interest in social issues, and finally companies which are positioning themselves as problem solver specialized in the social field only. Generation should not have an impact on our behavior and our actions. Each of us has the power to do what they think good / what motivates them, the power to change the world !"
Through these stories, I think that, like me, you can be inspired ! "Creativity is present within all young leaders", as mentioned by Muhammad Yunus, with creativity and technologies, we have the POWER to change things, to undertake and to succeed in our project/life !
Creativity is just part of us, young leaders!
