Boost-Up Crossmedia
What is this about?
Boost-Up Crossmedia is a call for projects aiming at promoting the distribution of film production through new channels in order to make the works more tempting and attractive. It was set up by Wallimage, the Walloon economical fund dedicated to films, in order to support the audiovisual and film sector.
3 axes were developed in 2012:
- "Digital Promotion" consists of a yearly call for projects targeting films that have already been supported by Wallimage, where the producers wish to develop Crossmedia approaches for the distribution and promotion of their film (website, SmartPhone application, social networks, etc...);
- "Digital Extension" targets film projects breaking out of the usual framework for distribution as they allow film spectators to become actors in the film by taking a role in the work through new distribution systems (web, social networks, etc...);
- "Digital Exploration" targets projects related to the film sector without, however, entering within the scope of the two other axes set up by Wallimage Crossmedia.
Who is involved?
Film producers who wish to boost the promotion of their film through the new media.
Important remark: films eligible to benefit from this program should have received support from Wallimage Coproduction.
More precisely?
In 2011, as many as 6 films were supported by the "Digital Promotion" line (Dead Man Talking; Torpedo; Il tait une fois une fois; Bye Bye Blondie; Le Magasin des Suicides; Couleur de Peau : Miel). All of these projects generated from the collaboration between production companies and crossmedia providers.
Applications are submitted to a jury selected by Wallimage in order to choose the projects that may benefit from this support.
